Yesterday’s August Celebration of our historic organ was simply magnificent! Godfrey’s biography told us that he had started to learn how to play the organ aged 13 – which really can’t have been that long ago – and yet here he was playing for us a wide range of music with great accuracy, confidence and finesse; it was indeed a joy to listen to and watch him play. His varied programme was clearly a demanding one and took us on an emotional roller-coaster, which moved and impressed us. Godfrey is demonstrably on the path towards establishing himself as an accomplished recitalist; and yesterday he captivated us – heart and soul! We thanked Godfrey and wished him a super-successful career in music . . .
