This week’s recital by Andrew Cleary was magnificent and very well received: we loved Andrew’s choice of music and the way he had structured the programme, juxtaposing big dramatic pieces with the serenity of others. The Bach centre piece was fabulously powerful; Fletcher and Widor provided a superb start and finish to the programme; the Reger was hauntingly beautiful, and the Pescetti, in the Baroque style, was strikingly different and included one movement that seemed todance, almost chirruping with pipes. As Andrew had predicted, it was indeed great fun at times and at others simply entrancing. We thanked Andrew very much for taking a break from his very busy schedule to play for us and also Richard Dewland, who took time out from being in the audience to act as page turner! Never a dull moment in the concert and recital programmes at Holy Trinity, Gosport!
